These pieces are inspired by two things. First: our relationship with miniature representations of ‘people’, especially dolls, mannikins, poppets and totems.: discovered on archaeological digs, in museums, in attics and charity shops, most of us have at least one tucked away somewhere; as totems they represent, experiences memory and family narratives. Second: I love the freedom to play and creative children have, sense of exploration and disovery we sometimes lose as we grow older, the joy of playing pretend.

Each piece is individual and they have names. Playtime wall heads have a hanging keyhole at the back. The Cherubs shelves have two holes. Use with screws to hang them on a wall. I only make these 2-3 times a year at the different seasons so they are limited editions. The latest line of standing sculptures are my twist on tableware.
